Are you currently struggling to pay your mortgage because of:
 
If so, you may be able to receive mortgage assistance through Indiana’s Hardest Hit Fund.
 
Are you back to work following a period of unemployment, and struggling to catch up on missed mortgage payments?
 
If so, you may be able to receive mortgage assistance through Indiana’s Hardest Hit Fund (HHF).
 
What is HHF?
 
HHF stands for the Hardest Hit Fund.  
Indiana is one of 19 states that received money from the U.S. Department of the Treasury to help homeowners avoid losing their homes to foreclosure.  Indiana received more than $221 million for HHF, a program that is run by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA).
 
The purpose of the HHF program is to prevent avoidable foreclosure and help stabilize the housing market. Indiana’s HHF may provide up to $30,000 in assistance to qualifying homeowners.
 
There are three programs within Indiana’s Hardest Hit Fund:
 
  • Unemployment Bridge Program
  • Recast/Modification Program
  • Transition Assistance Program 
The types and amounts of assistance available to homeowners through these programs vary. 
 

Who’s Eligible? 

The applicant must:

Applicant and property must meet all requirements; additional underwriting criteria may apply.
 
Homeowners who are not eligible for the Hardest Hit Fund 
may still receive free foreclosure prevention assistance.
